Commercializing Technologies

I'm looking for your thoughts on how to increase the commercialization of technologies in the NJ/NY/Philadelphia region. What are your thoughts on Proof of Concept centers like the ones started at MIT and UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering?

Is there a culture of entrepreneurship in the region?
